Sidmouth Park is a small park which includes an under 5’s and over 12’s playground, located in Leyton. It is just off Leyton High Road, the park itself is between Sidmouth Road and Dawlish Road, two roads which are only separate because of the existence of the park. Sidmouth Park can also be accessed from St Mary’s Road and Huxley Road.

The park is small and there are a few benches dotted around for those who just want to sit. There are plenty of trees making it a well shaded location along the main path.

For children though this is a really good use of a small space. The under 5’s contains three different slides, three swings, a large seesaw, a few different pieces of balance equipment, and a couple of less used educational toys.

There are just about enough things to play on to keep a child occupied for nearly an hour or so without being too crowded in by others.

The over 12’s play area is often more popular and includes some climbing beams and metal and rope climbing frame, a zip line, more swings, and a slide.

The zip line is popular and can generate a small queue. The climbing area is ok for those who can but can caused an accident for someone who couldn’t, manage the height.

Sidmouth Park is a little play area for little people, an encouraging outdoor space in Leyton where there are enormous numbers of children around. The renovations have discouraged the undesirable and it is now a refreshing family-friendly part of town.

Xavier’s review  “The playground was good, I enjoyed everything especially the zip wire!”
